Russian leader Vladimir Putin given PEACE PRIZE despite World War 3 fears

VLADIMIR Putin has been awarded a prestigious peace and sovereignty prize as the world teeters on the brink of another global war.

The Russian leader became the first recipient of the Hugo Chavez prize, an award invented by Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.

Mr Maduro announced both the invention of the honour and his decision to bestow it on Vladimir Putin while unveiling a statue in tribute to former Venezuelan leader Chavez.

The award also coincided with the awarding of the Nobel peace prize, which was given to neighbouring Colombia’s president Juan Manuel Santos for his role in negotiating a peace agreement with Marxist FARC rebels.
