Somalia Loses 108-42 their first game at the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 5 Club

Horseed from Somalia 108-42 lost their first game at the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 5 Club Championship in Uganda which is running from October 1-7.

The Somali Team played against Ugandan champions UCU Lady Canons who dominated the entire game.

Meanwhile, Kenyan champions Equity Hawks defeated Tanzania’s Don Bosco 68-48 in a one-sided encounter that saw the bankers make a perfect debut at the regional competition.

Hawks captain Hilda Indasi Luvandwa scored a game high 20 points and made five assists while Kenyan league MVP Mercy Wanyama added 14 points and picked an incredible 16 rebounds, 15 of them defensive.

“This being a round-robin tournament, we have to take one game at a time. Every team is here for the trophy and I am happy that we won our game,” the contented Luvandwa said.

Center Martha Soigi sunk 23 points and picked seven rebounds as KCCA Leopards saw off a stubborn APR side 57-45. Shooting guard Joy Chemutai added 17 points for the tournament regulars.
